    Some Recent Images

I just realized I haven't posted any images in a while. Here are some from a wedding this summer. More from other weddings to come later. CC always welcome.

    1. Bride's dress lifted up behind for backdrop.

    3. Some fun walkin' around town. (Waskesiu, Saskatchewan)

Nice images! I'm going to nit pick some of them a bit though since you asked for CC I like #1 but would've liked to have seen a bit of modeling by not having quite such flat lighting. #2 is a lot of fun! I like the processing, but might try backing it off their faces a bit. #3 seems a bit scattered, I'm not sure what story it's telling and how the people behind her are involved in that story. #4 is very nice, but next time maybe a reflector to fill in a little of the shadow side. Nice lighting in #5!

IMHO, of course. Thanks for sharing!!!

    Re: Some Recent Images

    Hey Steve,

Thanks for the advice. I think I may have flattened the "white" image more than it was originally in post so I'll see if I can bring something back! I have struggled with that type of post in #2 with photos that close up! It is a lightroom preset that I have made and I don't yet know how to lessen the effect in certain areas. I'll play with that. And I never even thought about using a reflector in #4! Lol! But I will next time a shot like that comes up. I don't care for the strong shadows in that image either.

Thanks for taking the time to give me some feedback.

    Re: Some Recent Images

    Hi Kevin,

    As I would do it.

#1 Over processing won’t repair bad posing. She’s too square with her shoulders in the image imo.

#2 I like the cartoonish processing, but when the lady smiles, I would like the see her eyes too. It must be just a fun shot with those sunglasses no doubt. The pose of the bride is more flattering compared to the first image.

#3 I’m a bit bothered by the uninteresting people in the background, there’re certainly not in balance with the bride. Again, processing won’t solve this. Moreover there’s a pole sticking out of her head.

#4 Nice try, but sunset must be romance. There’s nothing there. Next time you better use a gel on your of camera flash to balance the tone of the couple with the time of day.

#5 Again, why are they looking at you? I don’t like vignettes in outdoor shots. The direction of your flash looks a bit unnatural.

In general, let them looking more to each other instead of the camera. I always say to my brides: if it looks like you’re dancing, it’ll help to create better images.

These are only my opinions of course. Every photographer is different.

Thanks, Ed. I always appreciate constructive feedback. I especially like the "dancing" tip.
